Did you make it to the Wild Rumpus Winter Maker’s Market at Thirroul on the weekend? Member and volunteer Elyse Comerford did a fabulous job running two raw sweet treat workshops, using ingredients from the Co-op, of course!
Starting with a base of dates and coconut oil, Elyse encouraged participants to experiment with additional flavours to make raw bliss balls. Favourite additions were goji berries, cacao, cinnamon, vanilla, cashews, buckwheat kernels for crunch, more cacao for good measure, and a dash of salt. After a quick whizz in the food processor, participants got down and dirty, rolling balls of goodness to take home. Who knew it was that easy to make healthy, packaging-free treats?
Thanks to Wild Rumpus, and to Elyse and Cath Blakey for showcasing the Co-op and our products. We’re already looking forward to the next Maker’s Market in December.
