UPDATE ~ New Date
The sky is leaking! So the Mahbrook Organics farm visit for Sunday 5th March has been postponed and rescheduled to Sunday 12th March. Hope everyone can join us for the farm tour and picnic then!
Let us know if you can make it at the updated registration page here.
We Love Local!
It’s no secret that we love our local food, we love the people that make it and we love sharing their stories with our customers. So, this year we’re planning on bringing more of those stories to you by taking you to them. In other words, the Co-op is hitting the road to visit our suppliers – and you’re welcome to join us.
The first adventure will be to Mahbrook Organics, a 22 acre farm in Albion Park (which includes some impressive igloos) that grows all manner of deliciousness: tomatoes, aubergines, garlic, pumpkins, zucchini… pretty much any vegetable (and a few more things besides) that we stock at the Co-op.
If you’d like to meet your maker and find out how things get from the farm to your table, join us on Sunday March 12 between 10am and 1pm. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and blanket as we’ll be lounging around and enjoying a few pleasant hours relaxing amongst it all with the escarpment as the backdrop.
There’s no limit as to how many people can come but we do need to know how many are coming, so please register at this link (it’s free). And if you plan on heading there by train, a pickup can be arranged from the station.
