Keeping Clean With The Co-op

With Spring officially here and the promise of warm weather on the way, many of us get that feeling like it’s time to throw open the windows, blow away the dust, wipe away those Wintery mould patches and indulge in a bit of a Spring Clean. And that means cleaning products.

While a lot of people automatically reach for supermarket/mainstream brands with the lowest price, strongest scent and worryingly bright colours, unfortunately they might not be thinking about the harshness and potential negative environmental impact of using those products. For example, when those cleaning agents are washed away they’ve still got to go somewhere and that place is, almost inevitably, the same ocean where we’ll be swimming come Summer.

To try and minimise the impact on our environment and everything living within it, the co-op stocks a range of cleaning and hygiene products that are natural or plant-based, less damaging and use less packaging that mainstream brands (or none at all). And because we deal mostly in bulk it ends up being cheaper too.

A greener way to be cleaner

  • Use less, scrub harder!
  • Look for natural or plant-based options that will be less environmentally damaging
  • Buy in bulk from refillable containers to reduce packaging waste and to save money!
