  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow direction

  • Excellent written and visual communication skills

  • Genuine interest in food, community and co-operative businesses

  • Commitment to the duration of the 3 month role

  • 4-8hrs a week, 2hrs must be in-store in Thirroul (flexible schedule)

  • Access to phone, laptop/pc, wireless to update socials regularly

Meet Emma - Our Inaugural Social Media Intern

Emma joined the Co-op as our very first Social Media Intern and, over the past ten months, has become the creative force behind much of our online presence. From showcasing our beautiful fresh produce and pantry staples to sharing the stories of our community, local producers and events, Emma has helped us connect with members and customers in new and engaging ways.

Currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work, Emma brought her passion for health promotion, community wellbeing and creative communication to the role. Alongside her studies, she has gained experience through placements and volunteer roles with Healthy Cities Australia's Active In-Betweens program, the Play Illawarra initiative, and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. She also volunteers with Best Friends for Ever Rescue Illawarra, reflecting her strong commitment to the community and our furry friends.

Emma's creativity, professionalism and genuine enthusiasm for local food and co-operative values have made a lasting impact on the co-op. As our inaugural intern, Emma has helped demonstrate the value of meaningful work placements that create real benefits for both students and community organisations. We're incredibly grateful for everything she's contributed over the past ten months and wish her all the very best as she continues her studies and future career.
