Retail Duty Officer — Casual

Flame Tree Food Co-op is a community-owned, not-for-profit grocery store in the heart of Thirroul. We're looking for a capable, values-driven Retail Duty Officer to join our small paid team.

This is a hands-on casual role with real responsibility. You'll open and close the store, manage cash reconciliation, coordinate volunteers on shift, and be the face of the co-op for every customer who walks through the door — often as the most senior person on site.

This is not a conventional retail job. It sits within a passionate, community-oriented environment where the professional and the personal frequently intersect. If you're comfortable holding authority with warmth, working autonomously, and genuinely believe in ethical, community-owned food systems, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll bring: Experience in retail or hospitality, cash handling and till reconciliation, confidence directing and supporting others, and a genuine commitment to inclusion and community.

Availability required across the week: Monday–Friday 8am–7pm and Saturday 8am–5pm.
